Paul Strand
Paul Strand (1890-1976) must rank as one of the finest photographers of all time. His work covers a wide range of subjects, from still life and abstraction to landscapes, portraits and architectural studies. Strand might perhaps be described as a classical modernist. His photographs show an exquisite formal sense combined with a deep richness of tone and detail.
