Paul Outerbridge

Outerbridge

Paul Outerbridge (1896-1958) was born in New York and also spent time in London and Paris, working as a fashion photographer. Alongside his commercial work he made still-life and nude studies, characterized by elements of fetishism and surrealism. His perfectionism was evident through his mastery of the extremely complicated carbro colour process, on which he also authored a book.
