Man Ray
The surrealist artist, film maker and photographer Man Ray (1890-1976) was born in Philadelphia but later moved to Paris, where he was associated with all the major figures of the avantgarde. He was a tireless experimenter in photography, using solarization and the "rayograph" among other techniques to produce his memorable artifacts of surrealist photography.
