Ralph Gibson
Ralph Gibson (1939- ) was born in Los Angeles and has done much of his photographic work in France and New York. His style is often noted for its surrealist and minimalist tendencies. He has said, “I embrace the abstract in photography and exist on a few bits of order extracted from the chaos of reality.” One of his most recent works is titled Ex Libris and is an homage to the visual aspect of writing in all its forms His latest book, Brazil, is dramatic shift to colour.
